Description
This custom straight razor was handmade in my shop from start to finish, including all steps of making.
Honing was done on Naniwa professional synthetic japanese waterstones (1k-5k-10k), and finished on an Oozuku asagi japanese natural stone. The razor comes shave-ready, shave tested right before shipping. All my razors are disinfected and treated with Renessaince wax for added rust protection.
This razor is not stainless, and it is advisable to store it in a dry place, and wipe it dry after every use. Used like this, no patina or rust will be formed. I include a small bottle of japanese camellia oil with all of my razors, which can be used to protect the blade between uses if someone wants to be 100% sure. Put a drop of oil on the blade, and spread it out carefully with your fingers. If the razor will be used only occasionally, the oil can be left on the blade for additional protection. In the case of regular use, wipe the excess oil off with a clean paper towel or tissue paper.
